Can you make us a survey?
We get this question a lot. And the answer is yes! We absolutely can make you a survey. Clarity designs high-quality, relevant, useable surveys. Each part of that description, “high-quality,” “relevant,” and “useable,” is meaningful. Together, they mean creating a tool that results in the collection of trustworthy data that can help clients learn what they’ve set out to learn.
Clarity has the know-what and the know-how to make surveys. Here’s the thing, though: we also have the know-why to say that a survey isn’t always what clients need. To be blunt, a survey might be unnecessary or unhelpful: a waste of time, money, and effort.
Before we design data collection instruments, we ask clients the question we ask most frequently: “What do you hope to learn?” We try to lead the conversation in the direction of specificity, to find out what question the client is trying to answer. We start there because knowing that helps us identify the most appropriate methods for collecting the information they need.
Sometimes a survey is the most appropriate method for answering the question at hand. Sometimes. When it isn’t, we let clients know that, explain why, and suggest alternatives that are better suited to what they’ve stated as their goals.
